// ABOUT_WWCS

WWCS has spent over four decades keeping businesses across London and beyond running smoothly

What started as a small IT support outfit has grown into a trusted Managed Service Provider, now operating from offices in Finchley and Sheffield and supporting tens of thousands of endpoints for clients who depend on us to just get IT right.

Our approach hasn’t changed much in spirit, even as the technology has: we believe in building real relationships, not ticket queues. Clients come to us for managed IT support, cyber security, Microsoft 365 and cloud services, telecoms and connectivity, and hands-on consultancy — but what keeps them with us is proactive support that catches problems before they become downtime.

Today, a team of 41 works across our two locations, blending technical depth with the kind of straightforward, no-jargon communication that businesses actually want from an IT partner. We’re currently in the middle of an ambitious growth phase — expanding our footprint, sharpening our services, and investing in the people who make WWCS what it is — while holding on to the integrity and reliability that got us here in the first place.

// OUR_JOURNEY

Pioneers in Technology since 1983. We are WWCS.

1983
Founded
WW Computer Systems was founded in 1983 by Neil & Simone Lester. The business, a Word Processing Bureau (called Word Workshop), started from a small shop in Edgware, NW London. Neil Lester was a pioneer in technology and had one of the first desktop computers in the UK.
1990
Business IT Support Services Established
Our first client requiring IT Support walked through the door in 1990…”I cant open Word Perfect, can you please help”.From there the business grew in to supplying and supporting desktop computers.
2001
Relationships Built
In 2001 Marc Lester graduated from University and joined the Family Business. At this time the business strengthened and focused on IT Support and new technologies such as Internet and Email (with dial-up modems and internet speeds 0.6% of what they are today!)
2005
Tech is born..
A year before the launch of the first iPhone, WWCS moved into its first office at Mowbray House and hired its first employee. The business grew from a family concern into a team of 5, supporting 50 clients. Support engineers were out across London every day — anything from clearing a paper jam to installing Word and Excel for a client (which came on 30 disks!)
2009
Founders retire... team grows
In 2011 Neil & Simone Lester retired from the business. The business continues to be run with the original ethos of strong customer care, relationships and technological mastery. Internet speed increased, which saw the birth of the “Cloud”
2014
WW Computer Systems acquires Freedman IT Solutions
In December 2014 WWCS WW Acquires Freedman IT Solutions (FIT). FIT offered IT Support Services on a pay per hour service to 59 Small Businesses in London. The acquisition assisted in the companies growth objectives.
2015
WWCS grows up
In winter 2015, the business moved into purpose-built corporate offices in Brent Cross, supporting growth to a team of 14. That same year, Marc Lester was selected for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme — an experience that gave him valuable insight to help shape where WWCS is today.
